2017-’18 was another outstanding year for Peabody College faculty members whose scholarship, teaching, and service earned the admiration of peers near and far. Here is a compilation of their accomplishments:

• Seven Peabody faculty members were again included in the 2018 Edu-Scholar Public Presence Rankings published annually by Education Week: , professor of leadership, policy and organizations, emeritus; , Patricia and Rodes Hart Dean of Education and Human Development; , Dunn Family Professor of Psychoeducational Assessment; , Patricia and Rodes Hart Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy; , associate professor of public policy and education; , Patricia and Rodes Hart Professor of Public Policy and Education; and , Frank W. Mayborn Professor.
• , professor of human and organizational development; , Cornelius ������Ƶ Chair; and , Betts Professor of Education and Human Development, were recognized by the Black Cultural Center as ������Ƶ Pioneers.
• and , professor of psychology and human development, will share the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Society for Intelligence ������Ƶ.
• An article on loan aversion by Assistant Professors , , and was the most-read article in an AERA journal for 2017.
• was named Patricia and Rodes Hart Professor of Educational Neuroscience. Booth also accepted an invitation to serve as a member of the Language and Communication Study Section on the National Institutes of Health Center for Scientific Review.
• , assistant professor of public policy and education, was named an Emerging Education Policy Scholar by the American Enterprise Institute/Thomas B. Fordham Institute.

• , professor of the practice of education, received the 2018 Peabody
  Faculty Council Award for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
• , Margaret Cowan Professor, received the 2018 Award for Outstanding ������Ƶ from AERA’s Vocabulary Special Interest Group.
• , professor of psychology and human development, received a 2018 Rare Impact Award for ������Ƶ from the National Organization of Rare Disorders.
• , assistant professor of psychology and human development, received a 2017 frank Prize for ������Ƶ in Public Interest Communications.
• , assistant professor of human and organizational development, gave an invited talk in Seoul, South Korea, on the Paralympic experience in conjunction with the Winter Olympics. Plus, she was selected by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education as one of 15 “emerging scholars” and by SHAPE America for a Guiding Women in Sport award. Anjali was also honored with an award for leadership to the disability community by the Nashville Mayor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities.
• was named a Cornelius ������Ƶ Chair. She was also honored with the Dr. Asa G. Hilliard Model of Excellence Award from the College Board and the W.E.B. DuBois Higher Education Award from the National Alliance of Black School Educators. And she was named one of 2018’s Top 25 Women in Higher Education by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.
• , Nicholas Hobbs Professor of Special Education and Human Development, received a 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Learning Disabilities Association of America.
• Douglas and , Dunn Family Professor of Psychoeducational Assessment, gave an invited keynote address at the “Fulfilling the Promise of IDEA in the 21^st Century” conference hosted by the American Institutes for ������Ƶ.
• was named a Cornelius ������Ƶ Chair.
• , associate professor of public policy and education, received a 2017 Chancellor’s Award for ������Ƶ on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Grissom was also named research director of the Tennessee Education ������Ƶ Alliance and a 2018 Chancellor Faculty Fellow.
• Grissom, with Marisa Cannata and others in Leadership, Policy, and Organizations, co-authored two of the papers cited as the most influential of 2017 by the National Council on Teacher Quality.
• was awarded the Distinguished Service Award of the Council for Exceptional Children’s Division on Visual Impairment and Deafblindness. Hatton was also named professor of special education, emerita.
• , professor of human and organizational development, emerita, was honored by the Tennessee Justice Center for her work championing mothers and children.
• , Patricia and Rodes Hart Professor of Public Policy and Education, was chosen as an Outstanding Reviewer for the journal Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis. Heinrich also received the 2018 Peabody Faculty Council Award for Distinguished Faculty Citizenship.
• , professor of special education, received the 2018 Peabody Faculty Council Award for Excellence in Service to the Field.
• was named faculty director of the Ingram Scholarship Program. Heuser was also promoted to associate professor of the practice of international education policy.
• was promoted to associate professor of the practice of social studies education.
• Kate Humphreys, an incoming faculty member for 2018, was selected as a Rising Star by the Association for Psychological Science. She has also been named an Early Career Fellow by the Jacobs Foundation.

• , assistant professor of mathematics education, received AERA’s Scholars of Color Early Career Contribution Award and the Early Career Award of Division G (Social Context of Education)
• , Susan W. Gray Professor of Education and Human Development, was selected to receive the 2018 ������Ƶ Award from the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
• , professor of psychology and human development, received the 2018 Peabody Faculty Council Award for Distinguished Faculty Colleague.
• The AERA ������Ƶ in Mathematics Education SIG chose , assistant professor of mathematics education, to receive its Early Career Publication Award. Leyva was also selected as a New Connections Scholar by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

• , professor of psychology and human development, received the 2017 George A. Miller Award for Outstanding Article in General Psychology from the American Psychological Association.

• , lecturer in human and organizational development, received the 2018 Peabody Faculty Council Distinguished Lecturer Award.
• , was promoted to principal senior lecturer. She also won the 2018 Madison Sarratt Prize for excellence in undergraduate teaching.
• Hao Wu, incoming faculty member in the Department of Psychology and Human Development, was honored with election into the Society of Multivariate Experimental Psychology (SMEP).
