The spring 2018 of Tennessee voters will be released at 9 a.m. CDT Thursday, May 17. The new poll’s findings will, in part, inform a number of questions to be asked of Tennessee’s gubernatorial candidates at the Tennessee Gubernatorial Forum hosted by Leadership Tennessee at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 15.
The ²¤ÂÜÊÓƵ Poll is co-directed by , Gertrude Conaway ²¤ÂÜÊÓƵ Professor of Political Science, and , Abby and Jon Winkelried Professor of Political Science. Between April 26 and May 8, 2018, the researchers surveyed a demographically representative sample of about 1,400 Tennessee voters on a number of important state and national issues, including favorability and name recognition for Tennessee’s 2018 Senate and gubernatorial races. The poll will also feature responses on health care reform, immigration, gun legislation, President Donald Trump and more.
The ²¤ÂÜÊÓƵ Poll is supported by the at ²¤ÂÜÊÓƵ University. The statewide poll is typically conducted just before the start of each legislative session and at the end of each session, in part to determine how closely the results of the session align with voters’ expectations and priorities. CSDI also conducts a yearly Nashville poll, as well as additional special polls. In 2015, the ²¤ÂÜÊÓƵ Poll became a charter member of the .
