MEDIA ADVISORY: Farran to discuss new pre-K report at Brookings panel
²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ professor and pre-K expert will discuss the latest in pre-K research at a panel discussion at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
Farran, Antonio and Anita Gotto Professor of Teaching and Learning at ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµâ€™s of education and human development, is co-author of the landmark Tennessee Voluntary Pre-K Effectiveness Study, which found academic gains achieved in Tennessee pre-K classrooms faded out by first grade and vanished by third grade.
In a new report, published by she and co-author Mark Lipsey find that many U.S. states have been too quick to invest millions in prekindergarten programs without a clear strategy for success. She will discuss the new report as well as the national impact of last fall’s TN-VPK findings.
