Sherrill, one of the prime concoctors of the slick 鈥淣ashville Sound,鈥� died Aug. 4 at his home. He produced such hits as 鈥淪tand By Your Man鈥� for Tammy Wynette, 鈥淗e Stopped Loving Her Today鈥� for George Jones and 鈥淏ehind Closed Doors鈥� for Charlie Rich. He also co-wrote 鈥淪tand by Your Man鈥� with Wynette.
