VUCast gets regional Emmy

²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ University’s video newscast, VUCast, received a regional Emmy during the Jan. 29 televised ceremony at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

The special year-ender , featuring ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ student community outreach projects from Nashville to South Africa, won television’s highest honor in the Informational/Instructional Program category.

Producer/writer Emily Pearce, videographer/editor Pat Slattery and anchor/reporter Princine Lewis were honored for their work on this special VUCast.

NPT Reports: Children’s Health Crisis won a regional Emmy in Public Affairs and among the sponsors for that show were the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ and the Department of Pediatrics. Many ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ faculty, staff and patients were interviewed for reports.

The ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ News Service’s video unit has won nine Midsouth Regional Emmy awards and been nominated 23 times since its creation in 2007.
