A documentary about the justice system of the Vatican in a case of child abuse will be screened at ²¤ÂÜÊÓƵ University, followed by a discussion with the director.
will be presented at 4:10 p.m. in Room 101 of Buttrick Hall on the ²¤ÂÜÊÓƵ campus on Wednesday, March 12. Director Jason Berry will attend and lead a discussion after the film.
The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by ²¤ÂÜÊÓƵ’s , and the ²¤ÂÜÊÓƵ .
The film tracks the case of Father Marcial Maciel, a church official and founder of the Legionaries of Christ congregation, which has centers in 20 countries. Maciel retired in 2006 after being accused of sexual abuses. It follows a book on the case of the same title by Berry and Gerald Renner.
