The hearings will begin at 10 a.m. in Room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. Sharpley-Whiting’s testimony is expected to begin about 1 p.m. eastern time.
Sharpley-Whiting is the author of Pimps Up, Ho’s Down: Hip Hop’s Hold on Young Black Women and has spoken extensively about the complex relationship between young African American women and hip hop culture.
