Facts about the 2007 Commodores
> On the Commodore‘s No. 1 baseball team, junior pitcher David Price is a possible No. 1 pick for the “07 Major League Baseball Draft. Sophomore third baseman Pedro Alvarez is a national Player of the Year candidate.
> On the No. 12 women‘s basketball team, senior Dee Davis is the team‘s all-time assists leader and a finalist for the Nancy Leiberman Award. Senior Guard Caroline Williams is the national leader in three-point field goal percentage.
> The men‘s basketball team, ranked 17th nationally, just brought down No. 1 ranked Florida. It was their sixth victory over a ranked team this year. Senior wing player Derrick Byars is an All-America prospect and SEC Player of the Year candidate. Junior Shan Foster is a returning All-SEC performer and one of the nation‘s top shooting threats.
> In other sports, senior golfer Luke List is an All-American, making the 36-hole cut at the 2005 Masters. Women‘s tennis player Tako Bertrand was the 2006 SEC Player of the Year and shared top female amateur honors in the state. Two football players, reciever Earl Bennett and linebacker Jonathan Goff, are All-America candidates. Senior Garnetta Holloway is the defending SEC heptathlon champion.
> Women‘s bowling is ranked No. 2 nationally and the women‘s golf team will enter their spring play ranked No. 4 nationally. The women‘s soccer squad is also coming off back-to-back NCAA appearances.
> 164 of ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ‘s Student-Athletes achieved SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2005-2006. ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ also has a 92% graduation rate among student-athletes.
