²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ University homecoming parade Oct. 21

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – invites members of the Nashville community to attend its annual homecoming parade on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 10:30 a.m.

The parade will start on the university‘s campus at the corner of 24th and Kensington avenues and travel a route that turns right onto ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ Place, left onto 25th Avenue, right onto Jess Neely Drive, right onto Natchez Trace and concludes with a right on to Kensington Avenue.

Please note that these streets will be closed briefly during the parade.

Following the parade, the ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ Commodores will meet the in football for ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ‘s homecoming game. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. central time.

The parade is one of a number of homecoming events scheduled at the university Oct. 18-21. Among the activities planned are a Carolina Chicken Fry, during which students can dine on fried chicken in honor of the Gamecocks, a blood drive, opportunities to do community service, a parade float building party and bow-tying lessons with Chancellor Gordon Gee.

Commodore Quake, the university‘s annual homecoming concert, which this year features hip hop artists Ludacris and Common, and R&B artist Shareefa, will be held Friday, Oct. 20, at Memorial Gym. The event is open to the public and starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for students and $20 for the general public through Ticketmaster at or 615-255-9600. Tickets may also be purchased at the Sarratt Student Center‘s box office on ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ‘s campus.
