Ceremony, open discussion to mark Sept. 11 anniversary at ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The community will mark the five-year anniversary of Sept. 11 with a morning remembrance and an open roundtable discussion led by faculty in the afternoon.

A short ceremony will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 11, on Alumni Lawn in front of the . Bells in the Kirkland Hall tower will ring, and prayers will be offered by representatives of several religious traditions.

A roundtable discussion will follow from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Flynn Auditorium of . “After 9/11: A Time for Reflection” will include panelists , Chancellor’s Professor of History; , Allen Professor of Law; , associate professor of anthropology; , associate professor of English; , associate professor philosophy; , professor of Hebrew Bible; James Lawson, distinguished university professor for the 2006-07 academic year; , assistant professor of religious studies; , professor of human and organizational development and professor of anthropology; , Mary Jane Werthan Professor of Jewish Studies and Hebrew Bible; and , professor of philosophy.
