MEDIA ADVISORY: On the road to enhance regional ties, ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ Chancellor, faculty, students tour Tennessee and Alabama

Nashville, Tenn. – The fourth annual ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ Roads Scholars Tour rolls out on Wednesday, Aug. 17, taking and about 50 faculty, senior administrators, staff, student leaders and a member of the Board of Trust to parts of Tennessee and Alabama. Initiated in 2002 with a trip to East Tennessee, the annual tour is designed to welcome new faculty and to familiarize them and other members of the ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ community with the region.

Traveling on a bus – emblazoned with “²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ Roads Scholars Tour” – the entourage will make the two-day trip across two states with stops at the in Sewanee, Whitwell Middle School in Marion County, in Chattanooga, the , the headquarters, in Huntsville and in Lynchburg. This is the second year the tour will reach beyond Tennessee’s borders, emphasizing the importance ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ places on creating and strengthening partnerships in the entire region it calls home. Last year the tour traveled to Kentucky.
