Margaret Giannini, M.D., F.A.A.P., a world-renowned advocate for people with disabilities, will speak at the ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ Kennedy Center for ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ on Human Development on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, at 4 p.m. She is currently the Director of Health and Human Services Office on Disability and has over fifty years of service toward disability advocacy.
Giannini was the founder and director of the University Center of Excellence on Developmental Disabilities of New York Medical College, the first and largest facility for persons with developmental disabilities in the U.S. and world.
Her lecture at the ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ Kennedy Center is entitled "Disability Health Policy and ²¤ÂÜÊÓÆµ." A reception will follow the event. Giannini’s lecture is free and open to the public.
